Phoenix Art Group introduces artist Honey Taheri through five questions about her inspiration, creative process, artistic language, and the deeply personal stories behind her work.

Through a practice rooted in emotion, memory, and material exploration, Honey Taheri creates artworks that move between painting and mixed media. Her work combines expressive ideas with rich textures and refined details, transforming personal experiences into visual stories.

1. What inspires you the most as an artist?

Honey Taheri:
I am inspired by emotion, nature, human connections, and the beauty hidden in everyday life.

I believe art is a way of translating feelings and imagination into something tangible. My surroundings, memories, colors, and even the energy of a particular moment can become the starting point for a new creation.

2. What is your favorite medium or technique to work with, and why?

Honey Taheri:
I have explored various mediums, including oil, acrylic, charcoal, and colored pencils. However, my favorite is mixed media, especially resin combined with crystals, pigments, metallic elements, and different textures.

I love working with resin because it allows me to create depth, movement, light, and dimension in ways that traditional painting alone cannot achieve. For me, every layer carries meaning and becomes an essential part of the story behind each artwork.

3. Which of your artworks feels the most personal or meaningful to you?

Honey Taheri:
Me Without You is the most personal artwork in my artistic journey.

I created this piece after losing the most precious person in my life—my beloved mother. It represents my journey of carrying her love and memories with me while learning to continue life without her physical presence.

I combined acrylic painting and resin art to express the past, present, and future.

The pink resin treasure holds the beauty of our memories, created with Persian roses, pearls, crystals, and liquid gold. The blue circle represents my journey forward, even through sadness, while the golden circle symbolizes my mother’s eternal presence—unseen, yet always felt in my heart.

This artwork represents an emotional journey from the inside out, transforming love, loss, and memory into a timeless piece of art.

4. How would you describe your artistic style in three words?

Honey Taheri:
Emotional. Luxurious. Transformative.

My work is emotional because it begins with a feeling; luxurious because I love incorporating rich textures, light, and refined details; and transformative because I aim to turn both materials and emotions into something unexpected and meaningful.

5. What do you hope people feel or experience when they see your artwork?

Honey Taheri:
I hope my artwork encourages people to pause, feel, and connect with something within themselves.

I want them to experience a sense of beauty, emotion, and wonder—and perhaps discover a personal story or feeling reflected in the piece.

For me, the greatest achievement of an artwork is when it continues to speak to someone long after they have seen it.
